Hydrotherapy Regime:

Max came to us feeling stiff and uncomfortable mainly due to the Osteoarthritis of the left elbow which was probably resulting from Elbow Dysplasia.

Max began Hydrotherapy treatment with daily sessions in the pool. From his initial session Max displayed good flexion and extension of both front limbs but not as much in the hind limbs therefore requiring manual stimulation to gain more movement.

His initial pool session consisted of :
Swim 1.5 minutes, rest 1 minute, swim 1.5 minutes and a session in the Spa.

We built this up slowly session by session which Max seemed to cope with well. By session ten he was making steady progress.

Pool session ten consisted of :
Swim 4.5 minutes, rest 2 minutes, swim 3.5 minutes with the resistance jets set on low and a session in the Spa.

Max has increased his range of movement, put muscle mass on all round and lost weight. Max's owners report back that Max seems to be happier in himself and hope to continue further sessions on a weekly basis.
